I love collecting all kinds of things, some of them even look like trash. Low in confidence on preserving memories, often do I need to leave behind objects to validate that a certain story really existed, for fear that it will be gone forever. Light outlines the profile of the objects, casting the shadow towards a volume. These shadows are ephemeral. Through cyanotype, however, they are able to be solidified, thus becoming fragments of time. The process made me wonder whether those things we cherish are a projection of our inner world. Notwithstanding being formless, it is a language so deep inside. Objects that I cherish, they may carry a certain emotion, or be from a specific memory. Originally silent in life, their shadows become a trace as light passes through, reflecting the relationship between us. These abstract images, floating between reality and imagination, have absolute concrete forms. My garden is a space filled with memories, emotions and silent dialogues. Shadows are fluid and interchangeable depending on the position of the light source, as our inner states also change over time. The dialogue between these objects and shadows is both a response to the past and a gaze at the present. Inner garden woven by shadows. Light as time and shadow as the memory, the garden is the habitat of the soul. Within the layering of images, by attempting to record the shadows in my garden, I outline a certain part of myself.
